Application scope
Fiber Bragg grating embedded strain gauges can be applied to health monitoring of civil engineering structures such as Bridges, DAMS, tunnels, and buildings, stress and strain monitoring of reinforced concrete, structural health monitoring in the transportation industry (railways, highways, aerospace), oil and gas pipelines, and offshore oil platforms.
Introduction to Strain Gauge
It is used for long-term observation of the changes in internal structural strain of concrete, reinforced concrete or plastic materials, for state analysis, warning and fault diagnosis purposes. It has the advantages of small size, easy installation, wide measurement range, high measurement accuracy, resistance to electromagnetic interference, lightning protection, corrosion resistance, and the ability to build sensor networks.
